Employment Litigation Attorney (Plaintiff Side)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Employment Litigation Attorney with 5–9 years of plaintiff-side employment law experience to join our growing New York City practice. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing employees in complex employment disputes, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, and related employment matters.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a docket of employment litigation matters from pre-suit investigation through trial (Lead experience ideal)
- Represent employees in claims involving:
- Discrimination (Title VII, NYSHRL, NYCHRL
- Sexual harassment and hostile work environment
- Retaliation and whistleblower claim
- Wrongful termination
- Wage and hour violations under the FLSA and New York Labor Law
- Conduct client intake interviews and case evaluations
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Take and defend depositions
- Conduct witness interviews and factual investigations
- Manage all phases of discovery, including e-discovery
- Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and arbitrations
- Prepare cases for trial and assist with courtroom proceedings
- Collaborate with partners and support staff on complex litigation matters
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide strategic legal counseling throughout the litigation process
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the New York State Bar
- 5–9 years of plaintiff-side employment litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of federal, New York State, and New York City employment laws
- Experience litigating claims under
- Title VII
- ADA
- ADEA
- FMLA
- FLSA
- New York Labor Law
- Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions
- Deposition and mediation experience required
- Trial experience or significant trial preparation experience preferred
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong client counseling and communication abilities
- Ability to independently manage a caseload while working collaboratively with a litigation team
