Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro ICU position in Lexington, KY, with required ACLS and NIHSS certifications and strong neuro experience preferred.

Details

• 19-bed Neuro ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes CVA, neurosurgical, carotid surgery and stent, stroke, post-op surgical, cardiac intervention, sepsis, general surgery, and complex critical care patients
• Supports a comprehensive stroke program for patients requiring critical care placement
• Night shift (12-hour), third shift
• 3–4 weekend shifts per month required
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in KY or a compact state
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Strong neuro ICU experience strongly preferred
• Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care including assessment, treatment, care coordination, and patient/family education
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including timely execution of discharge orders and coordination with case management
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing
• Nursing practice is guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, professional guidelines, and evidence-based research
