WordPress Developer (Remote) at Collaborative Office Interiors

We're hiring a WordPress Developer (Remote) who can own our entire marketing site stack—from pixel-perfect landing pages to bullet-proof performance. You'll collaborate with our marketing, design, and SEO teams to ship high-impact features that keep COI ahead of the curve.

Collaborative Office Interiors (COI) designs modern, flexible office environments for forward-thinking companies, pairing ergonomic furniture with smart space-planning to help teams thrive. Our Houston-based studio has served clients of every size—from ten-person startups to enterprises of 10,000—since 1992, and we're growing fast.

What You'll Do

• Build high-converting landing pages that match UI/UX comps to the letter.
• Design and implement new site sections (templates, custom post types, blocks, ACF fields).
• Hunt down and resolve Google Search Console errors (crawl, indexing, schema, security, Core Web Vitals).
• Optimize performance & Core Web Vitals: plugin audits, critical-CSS, image/CDN strategy.
• Automate deployments (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, WP-CLI, Bedrock, or similar).
• Collaborate daily with designers and copywriters (Figma, Slack, Loom).

Must-Have Qualifications

• 2+ years professional WordPress development (custom themes/plugins).
• Proven track record boosting Core Web Vitals on production sites (send before/after URLs).
• Strong PHP, modern JS (ES6+), SCSS/Tailwind; comfortable with Gutenberg block development.
• SEO & technical-SEO chops (GSC, schema, sitemaps, robots, redirects).
• Git workflow, automated testing, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA).
• Excellent written/spoken English and ~3 h overlap with US Central Time.

Nice-to-Have

• WooCommerce or headless WP (REST/GQL) experience.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot, or Marketing Automation hooks.
• Design sensibility—can jump into Figma and speak the language of UI.
