Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager is a senior individual contributor and cross-functional leader responsible for the full scope of supply chain operations — from demand forecasting and production planning to purchasing, vendor management, and inventory control. This role bridges strategic thinking with hands-on execution, owning the processes that keep inventory optimized, suppliers aligned, and production plans on track. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with deep CPG supply chain expertise and the ability to lead S&OP processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Forecasting & Demand Planning
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and sales pipeline inputs.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to align forecasts with company growth objectives.
- Identify and proactively mitigate risks related to supply disruptions, demand fluctuations, or capacity constraints.
- Build and refine forecasting models using advanced analytics tools; leverage data to guide executive decision-making.
2. S&OP Leadership
- Prepare data for and facilitate regular S&OP meetings, aligning sales forecasts with production and inventory plans.
- Communicate supply constraints, excess inventory, or plan changes to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between sales, operations, and finance on demand and supply decisions.
3. Beverage & Supplement Production Planning
- Own the end-to-end production planning processes, translating forecasts and inventory data into executable manufacturing schedules.
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on demand and production output.
- Monitor inventory levels and consumption rates to proactively manage production cycles and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
4. Company-Wide Purchasing Leadership
- Lead all purchasing activities across raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Develop and execute cost-effective procurement strategies; negotiate supplier pricing, terms, and agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance against quality, reliability, and contract compliance standards.
- Manage supplier qualification and onboarding in collaboration with quality and operations teams.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure supply continuity and long-term partnerships.
5. Offsite Inventory Reconciliation & Control
- Oversee inventory tracking and reconciliation across all third-party manufacturing and warehouse locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate transaction posting into internal systems to reflect true inventory positions.
- Develop and maintain SOPs to improve inventory visibility, traceability, and reporting integrity.
- Create inventory optimization models to reduce carrying costs while maintaining service levels.
6. Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on planning metrics, forecast accuracy, supplier performance, and purchasing activity.
- Partner with finance, logistics, and demand planning to drive integrated supply chain performance.
- Lead or support strategic sourcing initiatives and vendor rationalization projects.
7. Process Improvement & Innovation
- Continuously assess and improve purchasing, forecasting, and inventory workflows through process redesign or system enhancements.
- Stay current on CPG industry trends, market conditions, and emerging tools relevant to supply chain optimization.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, production planning, or forecasting — CPG experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to build and manage demand forecasting models using advanced analytics.
- Strong track record in supplier negotiations and vendor relationship management.
- Experience leading S&OP processes and presenting to cross-functional leadership.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel is required.
