Purpose of the Role: Qualified candidates are included in a pool for entry-level production positions and will work in any of approximately eight various locations in the Corning Valley plants as positions become available. Our plants offer a variety of entry-level jobs, including cleaners, finishing operators, shipping receiving operators, etc.
Minimum Requirements: Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma or GED. You must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and have reliable transportation; no relocation assistance.
Preferred Candidate Profile: Corning Incorporated interviews applicants for self-managed teams and we are looking for individuals that possess a strong work ethic and substantial interpersonal and team participation skills.
Work Environment / Schedule Expectations: The majority of these jobs are on rotating shifts and almost always requires holiday as well as weekend assignments or completely working through weekends. Overtime is required in many cases and typically you may be moved from plant to plant and/or shift to shift depending on the respective needs of the company, or in some cases, you may be assigned to one location for an extended period of time. Economic cycles may dictate a need to reduce employees. Reductions occur based on a valley-wide single seniority system. Our new employees will go through a 90 day probationary period. Production and Maintenance employees are represented by USW Local 1000.
Application and Hiring Process: The employment process for all Production and Maintenance positions at Corning Incorporated in the Corning Valley begins once you attach your resume and submit a completed application. The next step in the process will be an orientation at a local venue to be determined. The orientation will be followed by a series of tests and interviews conducted by Corning Incorporated employees. Upon successful completion of all of the above, the next step will be background checks and a medical exam, to include a physical assessment and a drug test.

The starting pay for this position is $22.28 hourly rate. Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
