Position Overview:
This project requires welders with a solid background in structural and/or pipe welding in industrial or heavy commercial environments. Welders will be responsible for fitting, welding, and inspecting work to ensure it meets or exceeds project standards.
This is a travel role - per diem is available for qualified candidates.
Pay is based on experience. Competitive hourly rates + per diem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various types of welding including MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW/GTAW/GMAW) on structural steel and piping systems
- Interpret and work from blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
- Prep materials, cut, grind, and align components as needed
- Follow project specifications and welding procedures
- Conduct visual and quality inspections on welds; maintain consistent quality
- Work in coordination with foremen and other trades to ensure project milestones are met
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment
- Report progress, issues, and material needs in a timely manner
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of welding experience in commercial or industrial environments
- Ability to pass weld tests (plate and/or pipe, depending on scope)
- Familiarity with various types of welding processes and materials
- Must have own welding hood, basic hand tools, and PPE
- Willingness to travel to Georgia and work overtime as needed
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or on a team
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified welder (AWS or other recognized certs)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Prior experience with traveling crews or per diem projects
- Comfortable working outdoors or in industrial conditions
