Transportation Trainer for Safe Driving

Join the City of Saskatoon as a Transportation Trainer, focusing on safe vehicle operation through effective training programs. Shape driver skills and enhance safety standards in a collaborative environment.
Under the supervision of the Training Supervisor, this position will develop, implement, and maintain training programs for safe vehicle and equipment operation. The role requires strong communication skills and experience in hands-on instruction, including defensive driving practices, heavy trailer towing, and small mobile equipment operation. You will create manuals and assess training effectiveness through follow-up audits.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct classroom and practical training for defensive driving
• Develop and implement training courses and evaluation materials
• Provide one-on-one training for operators facing challenges
• Research best practices for heavy vehicle operation
• Promote health and safety initiatives in the workplace

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education
• Five years of transportation experience
• Valid Driver Training Instructor certification
• Knowledge of safety legislation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Elevate safe driving practices and training standards with the City of Saskatoon as a dedicated Transportation Trainer.
