Registered Nurse for BHU at Mission Community Hospital
Mission Community Hospital is currently hiring for a Registered Nurse! The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in the behavioral/mental healthcare setting. Exhibits the ability to perform clinical/nursing functions within the scope of nursing practice. Provides leadership and direction to other licensed and non-licensed staff. This position will be primarily working with behaviorally/mentally ill adult through geriatric patient population, including gestational females less than 20 weeks in term. Care is provided in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served. Must be able to communicate with Administrative Director, Manager, Charge RN and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including vital signs, behavioral and physical symptomatology. Respond quickly to changes in patient's status.

Qualifications Required
- Current license with the California State Board of Nursing.
- Ability to read and communicate (in-person and/or via telephone/intercom) effectively in English.
- Basic computer knowledge
- Current BLS/CPR.
- FIRE Card - obtain within 60 days of employment
- AVIP (certification required within 60 days of hire)
Preferred
- BSN degree
- Ability to speak additional language(s)
- Minimum of one year (full time status) adult Behavioral Health, Acute Care, Long Term or Sub-acute direct patient care experience within the last two years preferred; or a minimum of one year (full time status) experience providing direct care, assessment, monitoring, and/or evaluation of individuals diagnosed with mental illness/disability or a medical condition.
