LTL Freight Operations Manager

Drive asset-based LTL freight performance through hands-on leadership, dock expertise, and dispatch coordination at a Winnipeg/Rosser terminal.

As Operations Manager, you will oversee terminal and transportation operations, including inbound and outbound freight movement. You will lead approximately 15 operational or terminal employees and 3–4 dispatchers while managing staffing, workload allocation, productivity, service levels, and safety. The position reports to the Terminal Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee dock and cross-dock operations
• Manage staffing, schedules, workload, attendance, and performance
• Partner with dispatch on drivers, equipment, pickups, and deliveries
• Provide coaching, direction, and employee accountability
• Address operational bottlenecks and improve efficiency

Requirements:

• Five-plus years in transportation, freight, LTL, or related operations
• Frontline employee management experience, including dock or drivers
• Strong understanding of freight and transportation workflows
• Ability to manage productivity, safety, staffing, and service levels
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
