Aerospace Lathe Houston TX Job Duties:

  • Setting up and operating CNC lathes for machining center studs, tie rods, and precision hardware components
  • Machining long shafts up to 10 feet in length while maintaining tight tolerances and dimensional accuracy
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts for precision parts
  • Programming at the machine control or editing existing programs for turning, grooving, chamfering, and finishing operations
  • Setting up workholding including chucks, collets, steady rests, tailstocks, and follow rests for long part stability
  • Selecting and installing cutting tools, inserts, and holders for alloy steels and superalloy materials
  • Adjusting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to optimize cycle times and surface finishes
  • Performing first article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
  • Controlling OD size, taper, concentricity, and runout to meet turbomachinery specifications
  • Troubleshooting machining issues including chatter, tool wear, poor surface finish, and dimensional drift

Aerospace Lathe Houston TX Requirements:

  • Experience operating CNC lathes in a precision machining or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to machine long shafts or extended-length components with tight tolerances
  • Strong blueprint reading skills including GD&T and tolerance interpretation
  • Experience programming or editing CNC programs at the machine control
  • Knowledge of workholding setups for long parts including steady rests and tailstocks
  • Experience working with alloy steels and high-strength superalloys such as Inconel
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools including micrometers and dial indicators
  • Understanding of machining processes to maintain surface finish and dimensional accuracy
  • Steel-toe shoes required for safety compliance
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • No felonies in the last 3 years, no violent felonies ever

Location: Houston, TX 77035 Pay: $24.00+ DOE Shift: Day Shift, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
