White Glove Furniture Delivery & Installation Crew Lead

Job Description

Run your own delivery crew for a family-owned modern furniture store. $24–$27/hr pay range, plus a performance program worth about $2.50/hr and tips. Monday–Friday days, home every night.

Ambiente Modern Furniture has been delivering high-end contemporary furniture into Triangle-area homes since 1984. We run two white glove delivery crews out of our Morrisville warehouse, and we need a Lead to take charge of one of them.

The job

You're the senior person on the truck and the face of Ambiente in the client's home. You plan the job, direct and coach your Associate, and own the result: every piece placed, assembled, and installed correctly, the site left clean, the client happy. Off the road, you work in the warehouse receiving, inspecting, and staging furniture.

• Lead every delivery and installation from load-out to final walkthrough
• Be the client's point of contact on site and make the on-the-spot calls
• Assemble and install wall units, beds, sectionals, motion pieces, wall-mounted items, and lighting
• Inspect, prep, and stage furniture in the warehouse; keep inventory accurate
• Share driving of 16–20 ft box trucks with your Associate (no CDL needed)
• Complete photos and paperwork the same day

You should have

• 3+ years in furniture delivery, installation, warehouse, or logistics; white glove or high-value experience strongly preferred
• Experience leading a crew or being the senior member of a delivery team
• Solid assembly skills and confidence with hand and power tools, wall anchoring, and leveling
• A valid driver's license with a clean record and the ability to meet our insurer's driver requirements
• Proven ability to drive a 16–20 ft box truck; ability to get a DOT medical card if required
• Clear, professional communication with clients and teammates in English
• High school diploma or GED

Offers are contingent on a background check.

The physical side

Frequent team lifts over 100 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs on your own including stairs, and a full day of walking, bending, climbing, and reaching, sometimes in tight spaces and in heat, cold, or damp. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

Schedule and location

Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM, with occasional weekends and longer days when deliveries call for it. Based at 120 Dominion Drive, Morrisville, NC, with deliveries mostly to homes across the Triangle and beyond. You'll normally work with the same Associate every day.

Pay and benefits

• $24–$27/hr pay range for this position; where you start depends on your experience
• Performance program worth about $2.50/hr on top of base
• Tips from delivery clients
• Health insurance with 75% of the premium paid by Ambiente
• Paid time off and paid sick time
• Full training on our white glove standards
