Part-Time Orthodontic Assistant

Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics is looking for a Part-Time Orthodontic Assistant for our office located in Aventura, Florida. The assistant we hire is required to have at least 3+ years of hands on orthodontic assisting experience. Must be a team player with a compassionate attitude; self-motivated and have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment. Candidates must be EFDA & x-ray certified in FL. The hours are Mondays Tuesdays & Wednesdays with 1 Saturday a month (half day).

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Orthodontic Dental Assistant (prefer min 3 years)
  • Must be able to work 1 Saturday a month (half day)
  • EFDA & X-ray certified in FL
