TOPS Staffing is partnering with a growing manufacturing client in Pittsburgh to hire multiple Production Laborers for 2nd and 3rd shift. This is an excellent long-term career opportunity with strong pay progression, union benefits, and company-paid healthcare.
Candidates must be open to working either 2nd or 3rd shift on a long term basis, shift assignment is done by seniority.
In this role, you will be cross-trained to support multiple areas of the production facility. This position offers variety in daily responsibilities, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and a fast-paced environment where no two days are exactly the same.

- $20.00/hr starting pay during training period
- Contract-to-hire after approximately 2 months or 50 working days
- Immediate raise to $25.00+/hr upon hire-in = to over $10,000 annual increase

Job Details
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Training period: Contract-to-hire
- Must be flexible to work either shift
- Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Night Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
What You’ll Do
- Monitor semi-automated production lines to ensure smooth operation
- Load materials or packaging supplies into production hoppers
- Clear production line jams and make minor adjustments as needed
- Collect production and material samples for quality testing
- Assist with packaging, boxing, and wrapping finished products
- Perform general material handling throughout the facility
- Operate forklifts (training provided if needed)
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments
- Stage finished products within the facility
- Connect and disconnect industrial hoses used for material transfer
- Monitor pumps and storage levels throughout the facility
- Assist with transferring materials to designated storage areas
- Monitor quantities and temperatures of materials during processing
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in a production, industrial, mill, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Ability to perform basic math (counting, measuring, adding, subtracting)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and sit throughout shift
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally
- Must be comfortable working off-shift (2nd or 3rd shift) long term
- Valid driver’s license required (public transportation is acceptable; license must be obtained within first month if not currently held)
