Job Summary

Client is looking for Operations Strategic Manager to play a critical role in executing and shaping contract separation for a newly established, independent business unit.

This role goes beyond traditional category ownership. It is designed for a dynamic leader who can quickly assess evolving priorities, step into high-impact workstreams, and drive progress across multiple sourcing initiatives.

You will combine hands-on execution with strategic thinking to support the development of a fully operational standalone business. Success in this role requires agility, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and support the separation of enterprise supplier agreements across multiple indirect categories.

Analyze complex contracts and drive decisions that balance short-term continuity with long-term value.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies across critical indirect spend categories (technology, services, operations).

Drive negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.

Step into active workstreams to unblock stalled initiatives and maintain momentum.

Operate across all sourcing stages: strategy development, execution, negotiation, and transition planning.

Challenge legacy approaches and introduce innovative, practical solutions.

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Finance, IT, Business Units) to align priorities and remove barriers.

Provide leadership with clear, decision-ready updates on risks, value realization, and progress.

Contribute to building a high-performing sourcing team by sharing best practices and elevating capabilities.

Required Skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

5+ years of progressive project management experience in technology or enterprise delivery environments.

Demonstrated experience delivering programs using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Hands on Planview experience managing schedules, forecasts, funding requests, and RAID.

Strong financial management, forecasting, and risk management expertise.

Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with executive visibility.

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.

Broad exposure to indirect sourcing categories.

Strong expertise in technology sourcing (SaaS, cloud, telecom, infrastructure).

Experience supporting M&A, divestitures, or contract disentanglement.

Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Demonstrated success delivering results across evolving or undefined scopes.

Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Experience with procurement tools such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or ServiceNow.

Bachelor's degree required

Pay Details: $59.00 per hour
