Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Shop Floor Supervisor to lead our assembly team. In this role, you will oversee daily electo-mechanical assembly operations. You will make sure our team works safely, meets daily build targets, and puts together high-quality products.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who knows how to read assembly drawings and solve bottlenecks quickly. You will report directly to the President. Your main goal will be to keep our assembly floor running smoothly, safely, and on schedule every day.
What You Will Do
- Lead the Assembly Team: Assign daily tasks to assembly workers. Train new staff on correct build methods and tools. Schedule work to meet customer orders.
- Keep People Safe: Enforce all safety rules. Follow the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Make sure everyone uses the right safety gear and ergonomic tools. Keep workstations clean and clutter-free.
- Check Quality & Flow: Watch the assembly area to prevent slow-downs. Verify that finished parts and assemblies match our exact quality standards and specifications.
- Manage Parts & Tools: Track assembly components, fasteners, and tools. Make sure power tools and fixtures are working properly.
- Cross Department: Work with Sales and Engineering to advance the production team.
What You Will Do
- Experience: 3 or more years of experience leading a team in an assembly, manufacturing, or production shop.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, and build instructions. Experience using standard hand and power tools.
- Soft Skills: Great communication skills. You can explain steps clearly and help team members work out disagreements.
- Safety First: You know Ontario safety laws well. You always put safety first on the line.
