Available Shifts
1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Additional $2.00/hour shift differential
- Optional overtime available, including Saturdays
- 2nd shift overtime may begin at 1:00 PM
What You'll Do
Depending on your experience and machining specialty, responsibilities may include:
Prototrak Milling (Conversational CNC)
- Set up and operate Prototrak-controlled milling machines.
- Create and edit conversational programs at the machine control.
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for optimal performance.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
CNC Milling
- Set up and operate 3-axis and multi-axis machining centers.
- Write, edit, and troubleshoot G-code and M-code programs.
- Work with Fanuc, Milltronics, Okuma, or similar controls.
- Perform tool offsets, work coordinate setup, and probing routines.
- Run first articles and make program adjustments to maintain print tolerances.
CNC Lathe
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, including live tooling applications.
- Program lathe operations using G-code, M-code, or conversational controls.
- Manage tooling, inserts, and boring bars.
- Produce precision components to tight dimensional tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other quality tools.
Essential Functions
- Set up, program, and operate a variety of machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T requirements.
- Troubleshoot machining processes and programs.
- Select and maintain tooling for efficient production.
- Produce high-quality parts within specification.
- Complete work orders, production documentation, and time records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production status, tooling needs, and quality concerns.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of machining experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- CNC Milling
- CNC Lathe
- Prototrak Conversational Milling
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Working knowledge of G-code and M-code programming required for CNC Mill and CNC Lathe positions.
- Experience with Fanuc, Milltronics, Okuma, or Prototrak controls is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills.
- Occasional bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
Work Environment
- Climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Exposure to machine coolants, oils, metal chips, dust, and moderate to high noise levels.
- Safety glasses and hearing protection required in designated areas.
